Educational Reforms of Kunó Klebelsberg
During the past decades there have been endless discussions concerning Hungary’s reputation between the two World Wars. A country, which lost First World War and two thirds of its land, where the school, transport and regional network system got crushed, stood up on its feet and started developing again despite of living through a so called „national catastrophy”. We need to pay tribute to Kunó Klebelsberg – also known as the strong man of the Bethlen administration – for introducing reforms within a short period of time which covered the major fields of the educational system. The reforms related to primary and secondary schooling are described in the study.
